RECIPE: Sweet and Sour Dopsu No-Pork

The mixture of soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, golden fried pineapple chunks and Dopsu No-Pork pieces is incredible! Served with a side of noodles, it’s the perfect lunchtime dish if you’re feeling a bit adventurous.

1 tbsp vegetable oil
280g bag Dopsu No-pork pieces
275g tub fresh pineapple pieces, juice reserved
1 medium carrot, cut into sticks
1 red pepper, deeded and sliced into sticks
160g sugar snap peas
6 spring onions, trimmed and sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
2.5cm piece root ginger, peeled and grated
For the sauce:
4 tbsp pineapple juice or water
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine or sherry
1 tbsp clear honey
2 tsp cornflour
1 tsp sesame oil
To serve: rice noodles

  1. Heat a large wok or frying pan, add the half the oil, stir in the Dopsu No-Pork pieces and fry for 2-3mins until beginning to colour. Transfer to a plate. Next add the pineapple to the pan and stir fry until golden. Add to the plate with the No-Pork.
  2. Add the remaining oil to the pan and add the carrots and peppers and stir fry over a medium heat for 3 minutes until soft. In a bowl, mix together all the sauce ingredients with the pineapple juice and 100ml cold water until smooth.
  3. Add the sugar snap peas, spring onions, garlic, ginger and cook for a minute. Finally add the no- pork and pineapple to the pan along with the sauce mixture. Stir fry over a medium heat for a few minutes or until piping hot and everything is coated in the sauce. Serve in bowls with rice noodles.
